Hendra virus case confirmed in Murwillumbah on the NSW north coast

NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) veterinarians confirmed Hendra virus as the cause of death of one horse west of Murwillumbah on the NSW north coast.

It is important to note that although there seems to be a predominance of Hendra virus cases in the winter months, Hendra can occur at anytime of the year. Hendra requires constant vigilance.
